Qavaa is open and transparent to all backers in the world. Anyone can use all features of Qavaa from anywhere in the world, All they need a Qavaa Account and bank account with access of popular credit or debit card.

Campaign creators needs to meet following requirements.

  • All Creators must be 18 years or older in age.
  • If raising funds as an entity (business or nonprofit), you must launch your project in the country where the entity is registered. The individual setting up the project on the entity’s behalf must be an owner or executive of the entity, and have authorization to represent it.
  • If raising funds as an individual, you must be a resident of the country where you launch your project.
  • You need a supported bank account located in the same country you set up your project. This account must be owned by and in the name of the individual or entity raising funds.
  • You have a major credit or debit card registered to the individual or entity (or entity’s owner) raising funds for this project, and in their name.

We encourage creators to research all costs involved in completing their project prior to launching. Your funding goal should include the amount you need to complete your project  (costs of making and shipping rewards) and fees associated with running a project on Qavaa. Once you launch your project, you cannot change your funding goal and deadline..

It helps to make a list of all the materials, resources, and expenses (such as shipping costs) you’ll need to complete your project, and the estimated costs for each. Research how much things will cost, and consider how your expenses could change if you had to switch suppliers or fulfillment partners (it never hurts to have a back-up plan). Keep in mind that additional fees collected for shipping will be reflected in your funding amount while your project is live.

Fees

If a project reaches its funding goal, Qavaa applies a 3.5% fee to the funds collected for creators. Stripe, our payments processor will also apply payment processing fees (roughly 3-5%).

If a project does not reach its funding goal, no fees are collected.

Taxes

  1. Funds raised on Qavaa are generally subject to taxes. How much you owe can vary based on a number of factors, including the deduction of project-related expenses. We highly recommend talking to an accountant or tax advisor. They can guide you through your particular tax scenario in the most advantageous way possible.

Once you’ve decided on rewards that appeal to your community, you’ll find tools and options within the Rewards tab of your project that will help you to: itemize the rewards you’re planning to offer, build a range of reward tiers, create add-ons, and organize everything to reflect your estimated delivery timeline.

When building rewards, we encourage creators to ensure that they are setting reasonable backer expectations in terms of estimated delivery dates, the options that they are offering for shipping, and how shipping will be charged. We also encourage creators to use our tools to itemize and add the cost of shipping for every reward tier and/or add-on.

Items

Many creators will start with a list of items, then build up their reward tiers from there. If you’re unsure about the specifics or costs of certain reward tiers, we recommend starting out by first itemizing everything you plan to offer—this will allow you to gradually put together the building blocks of your reward tiers.

Reward tiers / Options

If you already have an idea of your project budget, reward structure, availability, shipping, etc., you can begin to create your reward tiers for your project. Most creators offer 3-5 reward tiers, which can be physical items, digital rewards, experiences, or a combination.

What can be offered as a reward?

Rewards are typically items created as a result of running a successful Qavaa Campaign (a copy of the album, a print from the collection) or more experiential rewards (visits to the set, a private cooking class). Your reward idea doesn’t necessarily need to be a physical item. However, rewards should aim to bring backers closer to your project. You know better than anyone what your community wants, think of things that would get you excited to back a project.

Reward ideas can vary so long as your reward idea fits into Our Rules, which include a list of prohibited items and subject matter, and can be set for any pledge amount up to the maximum pledge value.

How do I limit the quantity of a reward?

If you are only planning to create a limited run of an item, have a maximum capacity, or just want to offer early bird backers an exclusive reward, you can limit the quantity when creating your reward tier. Simply add Quantity of Reward and Qavaa will allow Backers to join in limited numbers.

For example, if you want to offer 50 pre-orders of your product at highly discounted price as a reward, you can limit the reward to 50. As soon as 50 people back this reward tier, it will be marked as no longer available and other backers won’t be able to select it.

We are asking creators for their demographic information to help us evaluate and improve upon our diversity and inclusion efforts, and to provide creators with relevant and useful service offerings. Learning more about our creators helps us provide better products, as well as reach our goals of creating a diverse creator community and delivering an equitable platform.

What will you do with my demographic information?

We’ll only use your information in connection with our efforts for making the Qavaa platform equitable and available to all. We review the data from the survey in an aggregate, de-identified way to track demographic trends and identify ways that we may better be able to serve the creator community. Additionally, where we have permission, we’ll use the information in an identifiable way to communicate additional services that may be available, such as connecting creators with funding sources.

When you run a successful campaign on Qavaa, you will receive some personally identifiable information (PII) from your backers, including their email address and survey responses. Under Qavaa’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, all creators are required to keep backer information confidential, except as strictly necessary to communicate with backers directly and fulfill rewards. No information provided by or about backers should be used for any other purpose without first receiving consent from the backer as required by applicable data privacy laws.

To ensure that you have received backers’ consent to be added to an off-site newsletter, we recommend one of the following:

  • Add a simple yes/no question to your reward survey, asking your backers if they consent to being added to an off-site newsletter.
  • Post an update with a link for backers to directly sign-up to your off-site newsletter.

In addition, the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides citizens or residents of the European Economic Area (EEA) with certain rights over their personal data, including a right to access, correct, delete, and restrict processing of their data and requires a “lawful basis” for collecting and retaining their personal information. Any successful project on Qavaa may have backers that are EEA residents and handling of their backer information would be subject to GDPR.

All creators should be prepared to respond to backer requests to provide or delete their personal information stored or used off of Qavaa’s site, including copies of backer surveys you’ve downloaded from the creator dashboard. We also urge creators to review the GDPR rules and consider consulting with a lawyer for guidance on how these rules and other applicable data privacy regulations could directly affect them.

Qavaa is a place to bring new creative ideas to life, and to find support for your project.

Projects are launched on Qavaa  to create something new; whether it be recording an album, publishing a comic, filming a short, building a gadget, or creating a work of art that will be shared with others. Your project should have a clear end goal, with a properly thought out path to getting there.

As our mission is to help creators bring new creative ideas to life, we don’t permit offering something that’s already available somewhere else as a project’s end goal. For example, if you’ve already published, and are selling, a cookbook, this shouldn’t be the end goal for your project. However, if you are looking to create and publish a second cookbook, the first one could be offered alongside this as one of your reward tiers.

We review projects before they launch to ensure that they fit this criteria, and to make sure they aren’t breaking our rules.

If you’re unsure whether your idea would make a good fit for Qavaa, feel free to get in touch with us.

Are there any prohibited items?

We prohibit projects that are illegal, heavily regulated, or potentially dangerous for backers, as well as rewards that the creator did not make.

Running a campaign on Qavaa is a lot of fun, but it’s important to remember that a lot of coordination is also required for a project to be successful. So, before launching, make sure that you and your project are 100% ready. To help ensure that you’re prepared to launch we’ve compiled 10 tips & resources below.

  • Make a detailed budget of your costs (prototyping, production, shipping, etc) and use this to set your funding goal. These creators share their tips on what to consider when setting your funding goal.
  • Establish your reward tiers. What are some rewards that might appeal to your community.
  • Think about your project page, is it launch ready?
  • Make sure that your project page is honest and clearly presented.
  • Make a list! Who from your community will you share your project with?
  • And, have a plan for spreading the word.

After visiting your project page backers should have a clear sense of:

  • What are you trying to create
  • How you plan on doing so
  • Your story. Let your backers know what brought you to Qavaa.
  • The progress you’ve made so far. How far along is your project?
  • Your budget, and how you plan to use your funds.

The more information you share, the more confident your backers will be in pledging to your project.

You can include images, videos and audio in your project description by clicking the image, video or audio icons at the top of the project description editor. Doing so will open a window that allows you to either upload your image and video files directly from your computer, or embed video and audio by pasting a URL.

Image specifications

Images must be 200MB or less. We accept most major image formats, but for best results upload one of our recommended file types: JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, or BMP. It’s best to scale your images to 700px or higher before uploading so that they’ll appear properly on our site.

Animated GIFs

The above image specifications also apply to .GIF files. Due to the way these uploads are processed, not all animated .GIF files can be successfully uploaded or displayed. Instead of an animated .GIF file, consider using a series of images to illustrate your idea. Alternatively, you may be able to upload the animated .GIF file if you reduce the number of frames that it contains.

Video specifications

Project videos must be 5GB or less, while videos added to a project description must be 3GB or less.

We accept the following video file types: MOV, MPEG, AVI, MP4, 3GP, FLV, or WMV.

Note: We take the video file you upload and create a 640 x 360 (16:9 ratio) version to display on your project page.

For video encoding, use WMV format in Windows. On Mac, use H.264. In both cases, the key variable is the “bit rate,” so look for that box. If it’s measured in kilobits per second (kbps), try 1500 to start. If it’s measured in megabits per second (Mbps), try 1.5. If the file is too big: make that number smaller. If the quality seems bad: make it bigger.

You can also embed videos by pasting a URL from YouTube, Vimeo, etc.

Audio specifications

To embed audio, simply paste a URL from SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Spotify, etc.

If you encounter issues embedding audio from your Bandcamp page, you may need to use the URL for your page that ends in ‘.bandcamp.com’, instead of any custom domains you may have set up. For example, if you have a track hosted at ‘mymusic.singles/track/one’, but your Bandcamp pagename is ‘imakemusic’, the URL you would have to use would be ‘imakemusic.bandcamp.com/track/one’.

Live video stream

You can embed a live video stream into your project description while it’s still in its funding period, or into a project update at any time, using one of our supported platforms: YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook Live.

It is important to note, however, that a project description can not be edited after the campaign ends, and it won’t be possible to edit an update after it is published.

Videos are not required to launch, but projects that have compelling videos tend to succeed at a much higher rate.

Campaign on Qavaa can last anywhere from 1 – 60 days. We’ve done some research, and found that projects lasting any longer are rarely successful.

We recommend setting your campaign at 30 days or less. Campaigns with shorter durations have higher success rates, and create a helpful sense of urgency around your project.

The estimated delivery date for a reward is the date by which you expect to deliver that reward to backers. If you’re offering more than one thing in a single reward tier, set your estimated delivery date to when you expect everything in the reward tier to be delivered.

Estimated delivery dates are mandatory for each reward tier, so be sure to choose a time frame that you feel confident in fulfilling.

Setbacks are possible with any project — creative ones especially. When the unforeseen occurs, creators are expected to post a project update explaining the situation. Sharing the story, speed bumps and all, is part of the Qavaa experience.

One of the most complicated parts of planning a project can be calculating the costs of shipping rewards to your backers. It’s crucial not to wait too long in the development process to figure this out. Having a solid plan for shipping is one way to help better manage your backers’ expectations and keep them happy.

Often, first-time creators will rush to launch a project and miscalculate the time and logistics for their shipping strategy. For this reason, it’s important to take into consideration from early on what aspects of your shipping plan you can handle yourself, and what areas will require some extra support from an outside service or vendor.

Making a shipping plan

As you plan the costs of rewards and your budget, consider the following:

  • Will your rewards be ready to ship in time for your estimated delivery date?
Expect the unexpected. Build a buffer for manufacturing and shipping costs into your estimates. By under promising you have the opportunity to over deliver, should you be ready to ship ahead of the set estimate.
  • Have a rough estimate of the size, dimensions, and weight of your rewards
Shipping rates are generally dependent on the weight and dimensions of the package you’re shipping, and may be subject to change. Some things to consider could include the type of packaging and shipping material you might use, how that might affect the weight and dimensions of the parcel, and how your courier calculates costs for shipping. You also might want to seek out shipping quotes from a number of providers to find the best one for you.
  • Have a rough estimate of the size, dimensions, and weight of your add-ons*
If you will be offering add-ons, we recommend gathering estimates for the cost of shipping these items, both individually and when grouped in with other rewards. When setting up your add-ons you will also have the option to add additional shipping for each item, if it needs it. For example, if the main reward tier is a copy of your book with a shipping cost of $5, and one of your add-on items is a poster, research how much more shipping these two items together would be.
  • Research international shipping rates
We recommend researching any additional costs or fees involved with shipping items abroad. Take these into account when planning the cost of each reward and shipping it.
  • Have you charged your backers the correct amount for shipping?
Will the backer be responsible for covering customs fees associated with shipping their reward abroad? If so, make this clear in the reward description and in your project description.
  • Building some flexibility into your shipping budget for the unexpected
Expect surprises. Shipping rates can fluctuate based on season, so you’ll want to make sure to build this into your plan and budget.
  • Consider your environmental impact

We encourage all creators to take into account the best practices for sustainable fulfillment and distribution of their rewards.

Shipping Calculators

USPS
UPS
FedEx
DHL
Stamps.com
Endicia

If the item hasn’t yet been produced or the design hasn’t been finalized, it’ll be a bit more difficult to predict how much it will weigh or what its dimensions will be. Especially if you plan to offer shipping around the world, it can be particularly tricky to anticipate the costs of customs, VAT, and so on. We encourage you to be extra cautious and consider elaborating on this in your Risks & Challenges section of your project.

When setting up your rewards, you’ll be need to list from the following options for each reward tier:

No shipping involved: This option should only be selected if the reward does not involve shipping anything (for example, a digital copy of a film).

Only ships to certain countries: Using this option, you’ll be able to restrict the shipping of rewards to certain countries, and designate costs for each country you select. If you only want to offer shipping within your own country or shipping to select countries, this is the option for you! This additional price will be included in the reward description, and backers in these countries will be prompted to enter the additional amount to their pledge.

Shipping anywhere in the world: This option allows you to select a global shipping rate, with the choice to designate outliers with different shipping rates. For example, if you’d like to offer a global shipping rate of $15, but need to charge only $10 for shipping to Canada, you’ll be able to specify this. Pricing will be included in the reward description, and backers in these countries will be prompted to enter the additional amount to their pledges.

As you build out your rewards and set shipping costs, note that costs for a precise country will always trump the cost of a region. For instance, if you offer a shipping rate of $15 for the European Union, but charge only $10 for shipping to France, a backer based in France will be prompted to pay the $10 shipping rate. Additionally, any funds pledged towards shipping costs will count towards your project’s goal.

What countries are included in the European Union shipping option?
The European Union shipping option includes Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, and Sweden.

Yes. Projects remain live on Qavaa until their funding deadline — which means it’s possible for creators to overshoot their funding goal before the project ends. In these cases, the creator receives all of the additional funds (minus our fees).

With these additional funds, some project creators increase the scope of their project, or improve the quality and variety of backer rewards available.

Picking the category for your project is something we leave up to you, the creator. However if you are unsure which category is the right one for your creative idea, here are some things to keep in mind:

What are you making?
All projects must follow our rules. While your project may fit into multiple categories, it can only be listed in one. You can also choose a sub-category, such as ‘Zines’ or ‘Comedy’. In those cases, the project will be listed under both the main category and subcategory.

Who is your fan base?
Think about which community your project would resonate with the most, and use that as a guide for your category choice. The more a community cares about the area you’re working in, the more likely they’ll have an interest in what you are creating.

Where does your project feel at home?
Look at other projects in the category you’re considering to get a sense of where your project might find the most exposure. It’s a great place to find projects similar to your own that have found successful ways to engage and promote their projects.

If you’re unsure whether your idea fits within the existing categories, get in touch with us.

If I choose a subcategory, will my project also show up in the main category?

Of course! Thinking about creating a documentary film? If so, you can put it in the ‘Documentary’ subcategory and your project will appear on both the ‘Documentary’ and ‘Film & Video’ pages.

We don’t permit running multiple projects at the same time, or launching a second project before fulfilling your first one. Having multiple live projects can confuse backers and split support. Moreover, running a project is a lot of work, and having more than one live project will likely dilute your attention and energy.

We do, however, allow experienced creators in good standing to launch and manage a certain number of projects back to back, within and depending on the category they have experience in on the site. We consider a creator to be “experienced” once they have completely fulfilled at least four projects.

How many projects can I run back to back as an experienced creator in good standing?

Design and Technology Creators:

✓: May launch and manage up to 2 unfulfilled projects back to back

X: Projects may not involve hardware or complex manufacturing

Publishing and Comics Creators:

✓: May launch and manage up to 6 unfulfilled projects back to back

Creators in all other categories:

✓: May launch and manage up to 3 unfulfilled projects back to back in their respective categories (e.g., Games, Food, Dance, etc.)

Creators may only use their overlapping fulfillment privileges in categories where they have a demonstrated track record of fulfillment experience.

Creators who have already reached the maximum number of unfulfilled projects will have to fulfill previous projects in order to be approved for future launches.

How can I be considered for overlapping fulfillment privileges?

There is no application process. The Trust & Safety team will assess a creator for overlapping fulfillment during submission review for their next project.

Transparency is an essential part of Qavaa. Being open about your project’s status, and sharing ideas with your backers, is a powerful community-building tool for project creators.

If you have any concerns about sharing any information about your project online, you may want to seek legal counsel.

The languages that we currently support on Qavaa are: English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. If your project includes text or audio in a language outside of these, we do recommend that you include English translations or subtitles where possible.

As a creator, it’s important to build your project with your target audience in mind. If you anticipate your backers will be mostly Spanish-speaking, then you may want the main language on your project page to be Spanish. However, including an English translation as well will help your project have a wider appeal. Qavaa is a global community, with more than 75% of backers on Qavaa coming from English-speaking countries.

Yes, business and nonprofit entities can raise funds for projects on Qavaa.

Nonprofits and charitable organizations can use Qavaa to raise funds for specific projects or endeavors making something new and shareable, but not for general support for their cause or mission. You’re welcome to include information about donating future proceeds to charity on your project page, but it must be clear that no funds raised on Qavaa will be donated. And, of course, as with planning any project on Qavaa, it’s important to look at our rules before getting started.

Please note: Kickstarter cannot provide advice about taxes, including how to provide receipts evidencing any tax deductibility of pledges. Creators should contact a lawyer or financial professional for any tax-related questions.

Don’t use music, images, video, or other content that you don’t have the rights to. Using copyrighted material is almost always against the law and can lead to expensive lawsuits down the road.

When copyright disputes do arise on Kickstarter (they’re rare, but they happen), we handle them in accordance with the Digital Millenium Copyright Act of 1998. To avoid unnecessary disruption, projects in question are typically removed from public view but are not immediately canceled. This keeps pledge authorizations and lines of communication intact, and leaves room for project recovery where appropriate.

The easiest way to avoid copyright troubles altogether, though, is to create all the content yourself or use content that is free for public use. For example, you may be able to use some Creative Commons-licensed music — per the terms of their licenses — that’s available on SoundCloud. Other resources worth exploring: Vimeo Music StoreFree Music Archive, and ccMixter.

Running a successful project requires a lot of dedicated time and attention. Accordingly, we recommend focusing your efforts on managing just one campaign, on one site.

Qavaa is all-or-nothing, and bringing all of your backers to a single place increases the chance of getting funded. Using a single platform for your project also cuts down on the confusion of sending multiple links and will help get your idea off the ground.

We see projects succeed where creators have a focused and comprehensive outreach strategy — which could be diluted by spreading your efforts across multiple funding platforms at once. While you may find your community is enthusiastic about backing you on one platform, they may be less inclined to back you in multiple places.

Congratulations on finding a project that you’d like to support!

Before we start, make sure that you’re logged in to a Qavaa account. If you don’t have one yet, you can sign up for one here. (Please note: Guest pledging is no longer possible. You will need to either be signed in to an existing Qavaa account, or create a new one.)

Now, to pledge to a project, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the specific project’s page and click the green “Back this project” button to the right of the main image. Alternatively, you can scroll down to select a reward tier. If a reward tier is no longer available it won’t be possible to select it and this will move to the bottom of the rewards column
    • If you don’t want a reward but still want to support the project, select the “Pledge without a reward” tier at the top and enter your desired pledge amount
  2. If your reward involves shipping, be sure to select the appropriate country from the drop-down menu and click “Continue” to proceed. If a reward tier is digital there will be no shipping option
  3. On the next page, you will have a chance to confirm which reward tier you want to pledge to, as well as add some bonus support, if you’d like. After you’ve confirmed your reward tier, click the green “Pledge” button
  4. If the creator has created add-on rewards for their project, you’ll have the option to add these next. For add-ons that are still available you can click the “Add” button next to each one to include it in your pledge
    • Remember, if the main reward tier selected is digital, physical add-ons will not be available and clicking the green “Pledge” button will take you to the payments page
  5. Make sure to double-check your pledge details, including any selected add-ons, and shipping destination. When ready, click “Continue” to go to the payments page
  6. Here you’ll be prompted to enter your payment details and check a box confirming that you understand that rewards aren’t guaranteed
  7. Now to complete your pledge, click the green “Pledge” button and you’ll be all set
    • Please note: It is not possible to split a pledge between multiple credit cards. You’ll need to provide one debit or credit card per pledge

Once your pledge has gone through you should receive a confirmation email to confirm that you are now a backer of the project. If the project is successfully funded, your card will be charged when it reaches its deadline.

If you didn’t reach a “Thank you!” confirmation page and/or you didn’t receive a confirmation email (title: “You just backed [Project Name]”), it’s likely that your pledge did not go through and you may want to try again.

Your card will be charged when you back a campaign and submit your funds from secure checkout page or add funds to your Qavaa Campaign Wallet.

Qavaa doesn’t charge anyone outside of website so beware and use Qavaa only to make secure pledge.

If you weren’t able to pledge to a project before it reached its deadline, or you’ve come across an interesting project that has already ended, it’s no longer possible to pledge to the project through Qavaa.

To see if there’s a way you can support the project outside of Qavaa we recommend reaching out to the creator directly. You can find the steps for contacting a project creator in this help center article.

I pledged via a link on an ended project page but it isn’t showing in my Backed projects?

To be recognized as a backer of a project on Qavaa, you must pledge when a project is still live, either by clicking the green “Back this project” button or by selecting a reward tier.

If you followed a link on the project page to a page outside of Qavaa, and pledged on a separate site, there is no record of your transaction with Qavaa. Therefore, it’s not possible to be reflected as a backer and you will be unable to comment or view backer-only updates.

There are a bunch of ways to find cool projects:

Yes, Qavaa uses PayPal as one of Payment Processor and backers can use their PayPal account on Checkout page to back campaigns.

Yes! We’ll send you an email notification when a project you’re backing ends, regardless of whether or not it met its funding goal. Additionally, you can also find the status of a project you backed in your Backed Campaigns page.

Please note: As each project on Qavaa is unique, each project creator might also have a unique solution to address backing for multiple rewards. For this reason, we strongly encourage backers to contact the creator first to seek a personalized arrangement.

We know when a project is offering lots of great rewards it can be tough to decide which one to pick, however it’s only possible to pledge to a project once. Accordingly, backers can only choose one reward tier per pledge.

Creators will typically accommodate multiple rewards for backers, in one of the following ways:

  1. Creators may create add-on rewards when setting up their project, or while it’s still live, that can be added during the pledging process for a reward tier.
  2. Creators may create a new reward tier that includes a certain combination of rewards while the project is still live on Qavaa.
  3. Creators may ask backers to adjust their pledge amount for multiple items before the project has reached it’s deadline. For example, if a backer would like two copies of a book, they can increase their pledge amount to account for the additional item.

There are a few ways to get in touch with a project creator.

  • You can send questions you have for a creator by heading to the FAQ tab on the project page and clicking the “Ask a question” button.
  • You can also message the creator privately. To message a creator, visit the project page and click on the creator’s profile name. This will open their bio page where you can then click the “Contact me” button.
  • If you’re a backer and would like your question to be public, you can post a comment on the project under the ‘Comments’ section.

When a project is overfunded backers sometimes wonder: what happens with all that “extra” money? If a creator has a funding goal of $5,000 and raises $25,000, what do they do with the $20,000 they didn’t ask for?

Most of the time what seems like “extra” money isn’t extra at all. Ten times the funding often means ten times the backers. More rewards have to be produced and distributed, and creators need that funding to do it (and sometimes some of their own money too).

Sometimes when a project is overfunded, it lets the creator put that money back into the project to create something better for the backers and themselves. More songs on an album, additional game elements, better materials, etc.

Creators may also choose to offer add-ons, allowing backers to select additional rewards, and ultimately get more out of the project. Any funds raised beyond the goal will help the creator to cover any manufacturing or shipping costs related to their add-ons.

In other cases, overfunding leads to better margins and the creator may even profit from the project. This often means that the creator can continue the project beyond Qavaa— and backers are part of that story.

Yes! Anyone can pledge to Qavaa Campaigns, from anywhere in the world. The only requirement is a major credit card.

In general, no. However, some US projects started by or with a 501(c)(3) organization may offer tax deductions. If so, this will be touted on the project page. If you have questions about tax deductions, please contact the project creator directly.

Qavaa is open to backers all over the world. Anyone, from anywhere, can pledge to a project as long as they have a major debit or credit card.

Your pledge will be collected in the USD Qavaa’s native currency. Note that in some cases, it’s possible that your final pledge amount may differ based on the exchange rate value at the time a successful project ends. In these cases, we use the service Open Exchange Rates to determine the final value of your pledge.

If you have questions about foreign currency transactions, we’d recommend reaching out to your financial institution for further clarification.

You can change the displayed currency on Qavaa by scrolling to the header or bottom footer of the page and selecting a currency from the dropdown menu. Once you’ve selected your preferred currency, project goals, reward tiers, and pledge amounts will be shown with an approximate conversion to that currency.
